Tap into your natural biological rhythms with Biomatch (Biodata UK, £24.50) by Zerrin Hodgkins, a new book that claims to decode the mysteries of life - using maths. Biomatch reveals the ups and downs of the body's biological clock, shown in a series of charts, and allows you to discover the biological basis of your relationship based on your partner's birthday.
The principle of biorhythms is that our life is governed by three hormonally determined cycles that affect our emotional, physical and intellectual energy levels. These cycles begin the day we are born and, as they follow a regular pattern, we can use them (and the Biomatch mathematical tables) to predict the future and to see how well-suited we are to our partner by comparing biorhythms.

It may be tempting to dismiss the whole theory of biorhythms as a basis for ascertaining the compatibility of a relationship as gibberish made to look like science, except for the fact that some of the celebrity relationship predictions in Biomatch are uncannily accurate.
Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal, who are no longer an item, register a zero percent emotional compatibility on the biorhythm monitor Bruce Willis and Demi Moore have a low physical and intellectual compatibility score, which rates them as possible friends. Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Jackson have 93 percent emotional compatibility but suffer from low physical and intellectual scores.
