Biomatch predicts Big Brother result three years in a row!

It's not just Kate who's celebrating. At Biomatch we're popping the champagne too. Yes, Kate is a likeable and worthy winner, and, for the third year running, the Biomatch calculations that we made at the beginning of the show were correct!

The probability that our calculations could predict the right Big Brother result simply by luck (three times in a row - with different game rules and additional contestants!) is mathematically as likely as winning the Lottery. It's a fantastic result - a milestone that shows how Biomatch predictions can be tested in a controlled environment. Whether you love or hate the show, Big Brother has proven to be a great televisual experiment in Biomatch theory.

We thank the Big Brother 2002 team for giving us the chance to test and expand our understanding of relationship compatibility in this unique and enjoyable way.

Week 9

The Fab Four

UK Big Brother 3's final foursome, Alex Sibley, Jade Goody, Jonny Regan, and Kate Lawler are physically very compatible with each other. In other words they are comfortable in each other's presence, although sexual chemistry and jealousy are bound to lead to occasional tensions. Physically, intellectually and emotionally Jonny is most compatible with Alex, and Kate is most compatible with Jade. In plain English, the boys rival one another in every respect, as do the girls.

We saw typical rival behaviour between Kate and Jade this week, whereas Jonny and Alex dealt with their rivalry by maintaining distance. Our research shows that males tend to ignore or acknowledge their closest rivals, while females switch from best buddy to back-stabber - and back again - within a matter of a day. The effect is magnified when compatible males are around - and especially in game shows with a wodge of banknotes at stake!

Week 8

Tim is evicted - "comprondez?"

Tim was given his marching orders by the public on week 8. It confirms Alex's position as the 'alpha' male for the final week of the UK Big Brother 2002 because he has a better overall charge rating than Jonny.

In week 8, Alex and Kate shared the same biorhythmic physical average (82.67) with the rest of the group; Jade and Jonny also shared the same average biorhythmic physical average (71.33).

The highest overall charge (543), physical average (82.67), and intellectual average (43.33) belonged to Kate. Although the differences between the 2002 final-four-housemates' biorhythmic compatibilities were the smallest so far, Kate is set to win because of her biorhythmic supremacy.

Apologies if the above means very little to you. At first glance, biorhythms theory can appear complicated. Help is at hand in the form of our book, Biomatch Z.

Biomatch Z provides a complete explanation of infradian biorhythms in a way that's both readable and easily to grasp. Weeks 6 and 7

Adios Adele

Week 6 saw Adele evicted. Adele has always known that she was in the 'wrong' crowd. Biorhythmically, she was one of the least compatible housemates. Nevertheless, she had a go at playing the game and experimenting with alliances and relationships.

The bad news is that Adele has no biorhythmic compatibility with Alex - her chosen ally and love interest. Despite this, their 'relationship' could last beyond Big Brother because both are influenced by looks and images. But not for long - if at all - because our observations show that Alex is in tune with his biorhythms. We think he'll wait for the right partner to come along.

If Alex and Adele do become an item, it'll be a partnership devoid of real passion. They'll be much like last year's odd couple, Paul and Helen. Relationships that lack biorhythmic compatibility are time bombs. They end suddenly and surprisingly when one or other party finds someone more compatible.

Good riddance PJ

Sorry PJ, we think you were a real chauvinist, and were glad to see the back of you on week 7.

We've said it all before about PJ Ellis.

Tim - the uncomfortable top dog

Tim is disillusioned by the whole idea of the BB show. He was reprimanded for hiding bottles of wine which he saved for his housemates. If he had managed to fool the BB watch team, he would have used the wine to boost his popularity by bringing the bottles out at an appropriate time.

Tim is used to buying his way through life. He knows that it wins 'friends' and raises the social position of the giver.

The Big Brother experience must be a deeply humbling - and potentially humiliating - experience for all the contestants.

The irony is that Tim didn't have to worry about winning popularity in the BB house because he was biorhythmically compatible with almost every one. We know from experience that Big Brother's 'biorhythmic top dogs' find their position uncomfortable (unless they are so laid back that no one notices their potential dominance). Their discomfort usually leads to nomination.

Weeks 4 and 5

Slaying of the bio-giant

Spencer used to be second in line to the Big Brother biorhythmic top-dog slot - until the public booted him out at the end of the 4th week. To the biorhythmic human-watchers his exit came as no surprise.

Biorhythmic top dogs react to their status by being aloof or hyper. We've seen both behaviours within the group. Kate and Spencer: aloof; Jade and Jonny (followed closely by Alex): hyper. In this instance, Spencer's aloofness was magnified by the BB team's editing. They chose to promote Alex as the more interesting housemate.

We saw in the two previous Big Brother series how the biorhythmic top dogs Sada Walkington, Nichola Holt, Stuart Hoskings, and Narinder Kaur took an early exit. Biorhythmic power becomes threatening in a small group, especially a competitive one. The underlings tend to turn against the dominant force.

This season's biorhythmic top dogs, Spencer and Kate, had the double burden of having the highest charge [the total of biorhythmic compatibility ratings with the rest of the group] as well as the highest average physical and intellectual compatibility. Previous winners, Craig Phillips and Brian Dowling, each entered the BB house with the third highest overall charge. That meant that, in the early stages of the show, their housemates never perceived them as a threat.

As we always say, it takes about two years for biorhythmic compatibility to surface in relationships. That's how long it usually takes people to drop their guards and pretences, and act their true nature within a relationship - unless they are lifelong 'actors' in love with their own images.

The accuracy with which we predicted the outcome (using our book, Biomatch Z) of the previous two series astounded us. We've seen that the smaller the group, the more confined the space, and the less the influence of everyday life - the stronger the biorhythmic forces.

At the beginning of this series, we predicted that the likely winners would be Kate or Spencer. Now we'll be watching to see whether Kate's biorhythmic double 'burden' will also see her voted out.

Should Kate leave, the likely winner will come from a fresh set of biorhythmic top dogs, The new boy Tim Cullen, Jade, Jonny, and Alex, who are waiting in the wings. Of the four, Tim and Jade have the best physical and intellectual compatibility. This just goes to show how wrong first impressions can be. Like the majority of people we looked at Jade and thought she would be the first one to go - until we went deeper and analysed the group's biorhythmic compatibilities!

To understand how the positions of the housemates change as the group becomes smaller, follow our week-by-week study of household-relationships dynamics.

The outcome will contribute to our ongoing biorhythmic research - and to your understanding of how biorhythms affect your daily life.

You can learn all about your own daily potential and relationships by tapping into our online Biomatch biorhthms software or by studying the definitive book, Biomatch Z. Best of all, you can find your own biorhythmically-compatible partner through our Biomatch online biorhythmic matching service.

It's weepy time!

Jade, Kate, and Sophie's emotional biorhythms are passing through a negative phase. So it was emotional neediness and tears galore in the BB house around the 27th of June. It was a vulnerable time for them all, but it gave Sophie, whose only strong biorhythmic bond is the emotional compatibility she shares her housemates, a chance to bond emotionally with Jade and Kate.

Sophie's emotional compatibility (which is the mainstay of long-term friendships) will help her in the BB house - if she doesn't get the boot later today, the 28th of June.

Our research shows that, in a competition, emotional compatibility surfaces later than physical and intellectual compatibility. The simple reason is that, in a competition, no one is interested in finding a friend.

Yet when we meet someone new in everyday interaction, the emotional compatibility surfaces first. That's why so many people mistakenly see potential friends as potential partners! Don't do it - check your love compatibility, which takes all the aspects of a relationship into account, before you make your move.

Biomatch is the only system that gives you the chance to match yourself by your nature (your biorhythms) and by your nurture (your preferences). Join now and try it for free!

The mastery of Adele

What does Adele Robinson of Big Brother 3 have in common with Dean McLoughlin of Big Brother 2? The surprising answer is that they've both learned how to relate to people - when they choose to. Their skill is to see matters through others' eyes. This includes bitching about a third party if the bitching suits their joint cause.

Although Adele is less adept than Dean, she has survived very well despite minimal biorhythmic compatibility with her housemates or her 'love interest' Alex. The pattern of associations is similar to Dean's, especially his relationship with Elizabeth.

Of the Big Brother 3 housemates Adele had the best compatibility with Sandy. Choosing Alex as a mate is a tactical move by both of them. Adele and Alex cannot be rivals, or anything else for that matter, because they are opposites. Their 'sexual chemistry' (even when the pair French-kissed for the cameras) is as flat as yesterday's lager. This suits them both - but will the pretence fool their housemates and the public into keeping them together?

We wrote the above before checking Dean McLoughlin's biorhythmic compatibility with Adele and Sandy. The result is interesting: the three are physically very compatible with each other, which leads to similar behaviour patterns. Intellectually, however, they have medium to low compatibility which means that they do not always think alike.

The biorhythmic analysis confirms our observational analysis. For Dean, Adele, and Sandy, alliances that appear to be intellectual or like-minded are in fact the results of their behavioural traits. In other words, they all have the ability to judge a situation from someone else's point of view. This skill works particularly well in short-term associations. In Big Brother terms, it allows the participants to make the best of the limited time they have together, at the same time as furthering their own cause.

Sophie Pritchard - a butterfly with wings outstretched

Life is never fair. Sophie was in with the wrong biorhythmic crowd. They didn't need a friend, so her attempts at making friends were shunned. Worse, they were treated with suspicion despite her excellent emotional biorhythmic compatibility with most of them. No doubt she will be remembered with affection by her housemates when the show is over.

Poor kids, rich kids

At Biomatch we have found this twist in the game difficult to comment on. Depriving people of their usual dietary requirements is an unnecessary and unfair trick to play at a time when metabolisms are already adjusting to new circumstances. On the plus side, the divide has highlighted some attitudes: on the negative, it's made the show less gripping.

The real twist is that this daft game-show wheeze won't make any difference to the outcome. The contestants' underlying biorhythmic nature cannot be easily overturned, so why not simply make life in the BB house more fun for all?

Adele, Jade, Jonny, and Kate are up for eviction

At least one of the housemates will be out in time to have a shopping spree at the sales. And we know who would appreciate a spot of retail therapy, don't we…

Alex could do with some of that too - but he's not up for eviction!

Week 3

Wake me up before you go go

Yawn...yawn...yawn... The most exciting thing that happened this week was Sandy's 'great' escape - and that lasted a mere two minutes!

Quite frankly everyone was relieved, especially Sandy. While he was plotting 'plan C', de-fleaing the dog or reading our pension plan small-print suddenly seemed like a lot more fun.

Biorhythmically speaking, Sandy was the weakest link - after Adele, that is. The difference is that Adele has the optimism and adaptability of youth on her side. Sandy has neither. His assessment of his chances of winning (zilch) was correct, and he wanted to waste no more time. So he voted himself out! At least Sandy can read the runes of his biorhythmic chemistry with others. He was honest with himself.

Lee leaves...

Oh please! What was he thinking of? This unconvincing would-be lover, first for Adele, then for Sophie could instead have been a convincing friend to both. True, he did share an excellent 'love' compatibility with Sophie, yet their Biomatch attraction/desire rating was only ever 'good'. He would have looked a lot cooler as a friend - albeit a touchy-feely, cuddly one.

True colours of PJ

PJ's application video tape revealed a certain dishonesty when it comes to relationships. We have since witnessed his antics first-hand. He lapped up the attentions of Jade, which led to a serious snog. Then he boasted about it to the boys while declaring that he didn't even fancy her! And the following morning, he didn't respond to Jade's affectionate cuddle in the garden. She felt sad, rejected, and humiliated in front of the other housemates.

This man is the menace that your grandmother warned you about. A dishonest bragger to his mates and an advantage-taker to his women. He's a throwback to an earlier age when his behaviour was the norm, when men bragged over cigars at dinner parties and thought women existed to serve their whims.

The truth is that Jade and PJ share an excellent biorhythmic compatibility rating - and their mutual sexual attraction is genuine and inescapable. If PJ wants to pursue other women when he gets out he should at least admit that he fancied Jade (what else would make him groan with passion when he pulled her close to his body?).

Until PJ learns more about love and lust, no sensible woman will respond to him.

Big Brother's Little Brother

Do you find the Little Brother presenter, Dermot, tediously unexciting and disinterested? Our message to him is: don't pull that funny face after each introduction - or someone might just elbow you off your shiny bike.

Timmy: the bundle of biorhythmic joy for the girls - and a serious rival for the boys

The new boy Tim enters the house with his whopping biorhythmic compatibility with almost everyone. Major changes are afoot. Well done the BB team, Tim is an inspired choice. Perhaps your inspiration comes from Biomatch Z, the book we gave you last year. Or perhaps from our Biomatch online compatibility software.

Whichever is the case, you've given this Big Brother group a much stronger physical compatibility with one another than any previous group. The inevitable result will be sexual bonding, tension, jealousy, and rivalry. And great television.

Let's hope Tim lets his natural self come out and plays the game without a stiff upper lip. (The Biomatch tip: snog Jade! Not only is she a good sport, but she's a far better match with you than she is with PJ.)

Tim will probably stay faithful to his girlfriend, but that won't stop him stirring up sexual arousal and rivalry within the house. If he does not act according to his biorhythmic instincts the girls and the boys will want him out of the house because they will perceive him to be acting unnaturally.

Trimming the top

This week's nominations reflect strong reactions to Spencer and Alex, two of BB's biorhythmic top dogs. Spencer is most likely to stay because he has better intellectual compatibility with the rest of the group.

Week 2

Sophie, the bond girl!

A new housemate could have stirred things up, but not Sophie. Sophie is the unexpected biorhythmic glue that helps the housemates bond better with each other - and also with her. She shares good, yet not particularly strong, biorhythms with her fellow inmates, with good compatibility ratings for friendship/sharing.

Sophie's sexual chemistry with Lee is not powerful enough to persuade her to rock the boat of his outside relationship. In fact, Sophie is unlikely to rock any boats or threaten any existing alliances. Whatever she says or does will have a soothing effect on her housemates. You could say she is the counsellor of the group - a group in which she has no potential love match.

Alison, the hearth breaker

Alison left the BB house in one piece - after destroying much of it with her antics. She may have broken the furniture, but did she break any hearts?

Alison had the highest overall compatibility with - wait for it! - Spencer and Adele, two of the housemates who stabbed her in the back. She had the least compatibility with Alex and Kate! What was going on? Could our biorhythmic compatibility ratings be wrong?

Let's analyse the situation. In artificial circumstances, such as a competition, people don't act naturally - not for a while, at least. When they are in this false mode, they judge their counterparts solely by their outer characteristics.

Biorhythmically compatible pairs can turn into rivals, especially when there's no sexual interest between them. That's what happened to Alison and Adele. Spencer also felt threatened by Alison, and not just because of her closeness to Kate. Spencer simply disliked the idea of sharing the house with someone similar to himself.

Kate loses her sidekick

Kate no doubt chose Alison to be her best buddy because of her bubbly and comforting personality. But Kate, who's one of twins, knows all about compatibility and rivalry. She also chose Alison because she thought there'd be no competition between them.

Kate was the first housemate to identify those with whom she shares sexual compatibility (Alex, Spencer, Jonny, and Lee). Her alertness won her the unfair title of 'house whore' from Jade. Depending on circumstances, Jade could be Kate's biggest friend or deepest rival. With Spencer, Kate has excellent compatibility in every biorhythmic way. Kate recognised this natural chemistry surprisingly fast - and against her better judgement.

Alex joins his biorhythmic fold

During the past week we saw Alex becoming aware of his natural biorhythmic allegiances. To Sandy's annoyance, he began bonding with those with whom he shares a strong biorhythmic compatibility. With Jonny, he shares an excellent biorhythmic compatibility. In fact, apart from Adele and Sandy, Alex shares a good overall compatibility with all his housemates.

Sandy, on the other hand, is highly compatible with Adele, and moderately compatible with Sophie. We'll watch with interest how well this broody little clan will survive. Our guess is that, as the underlying biorhythmic bonds take a deeper hold, Adele and Sandy will be voted out. They are the odd ones out. At the same time, they pose little threat to the likely winners. Tactical voting may keep them in at the expense of more pressing rivals.

Week1

Group biorhythmic compatibility and relationship dynamics show that Kate and Spencer have the highest physical compatibility ratings with the rest of the group. But Kate has the edge with her intellectual average compatibility. These two are the top dogs who will dominate the household until, inevitably, their sexual rivals get the knives out.

Alex and his model behaviour

Alex shows signs of being obsessed with superficial matters instead of interacting with, and relating to, his housemates. We see this behaviour pattern time and again from people whose self-esteem is dependent on superficial values. They tend to be deeply insecure.

Alex befriended Sandy despite the fact that Sandy is one of his least compatible housemates. Because they are so biorhythmically diverse, there's no chance of rivalry between them. But no chance of true friendship either. The cosiness of the clique they are trying to build is unconvincing. Few, if any, housemates would be tempted to join. Alex and Sandy should learn to look beyond appearances and start interacting with people. If not, the pair are doomed to a series of false 'friendships'.

Why did Sunita leave?

If you look at Sunita's group dynamics with the rest of the group, you will see that her intellectual average was one of the lowest. For an intellectual person, this scenario feels like murder of the mind.

She said she did not want to get to know any of her housemates. The truth is, she would have enjoyed tête-à-têtes with Jonny, Alex, and Lynne, the three housemates with whom she had the highest intellectual compatibility ratings.

Sunita's physical average was also one of the lowest. She only had physical (sexual) chemistry with Jonny, which is why she said that he would be the one she would get 'naked with'.

On the day of her decision to leave, Sunita's Biomatch daily biorhythms said:

Intellectually, you are in the negative mini-critical phase.
Mind Status: Your mind is fogged, you are removed from reality.
Action: This is not the time for hard decisions; you may well come to regret them.

Physically, you are in the descending negative phase.
Body Status: You are low in stamina.
Action: Keep away from sports and activities which are too demanding.

Emotionally, you are in the descending negative phase.
Spirit Status: You feel pessimistic and sad.
Action: This is the day to share your problems with trusted friends and family.

Sunita's triple negative biorhythms contributed to her feelings of despair. It was a fragile phase and she felt unsupported. In better times she will regret that she could not find the strength to remain in the house, but it was not her fault. Her assessment of her position in the household was correct.
